Lewis is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University College in 2009 and in 2013, Lewis received his Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. 

Lewis is a father to two children who are both on the Autism Spectrum. This gives him that extra edge into relating to patients and their families with facing mental health concerns. Lewis has a passion for helping those with difficulties surround substance abuse. Lewis has a passion to provide compassionate and respectful care to all of his patients. He started Milestone Psychiatry in an attempt to help patients and their families obtain an accurate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan to developing a positive mental health state.

Lewis is a LGBTQ+ provider. He accepts patients as young as 6 years of age. For your convenience, Lewis is available Monday through Saturday.

HARISSA BEBA, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

 Harisa Beba, MSN, PMHNP-BC, brings expertise and passion to the field of mental health.  Harisa is holding a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of South Alabama. With a focus on mental health, she is board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), showcasing her expertise in the field

 With a nonjudgmental approach, she emphasizes patient-centered care and a holistic approach to treatment.

Harisa spent five years working in an acute psychiatric hospital in Florida, gaining invaluable experience and insight into the complexities of mental health care. Her compassionate approach and unwavering dedication to her patients help foster trust and promote healing. Beyond her domestic contributions, Harisa extends her reach internationally as a certified registered nurse in Germany. Her fluency in German, Bosnian, and Serbo-Croatian allows her to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds , adapt care to meet the specific needs and provide non-judgmental, culturally competent care. She ensures that every individual receives care tailored to their unique needs.

In her free time, she finds joy in the great outdoors, particularly through hiking adventures with her family. Harisa’s dedication to mental health and her extensive skill set make her a valuable asset to the Milestone Psychiatry team.

Debra Lucas Frailing, FNP-BC

Debra Lucas Frailing has a career spanning over twenty years in the medical industry; Debra holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Chamberlain University and is enhancing her expertise with a post-master’s certification in psychiatry. Debra has found a true passion in Psychiatry.

Debra’s approach is deeply patient-centered, characterized by empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude. She strives to create a comfortable, safe environment where

the patient is empowered to control their treatment plan. She provides guidance, helping them choose the safest and most effective course of action for the best possible outcomes.

Debra enjoys running and spending time with her family, friends, and three dogs in her free time.

Kayla Varela, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Kayla is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Colorado.

Kayla began her medical career in the U.S. Army as a combat medic, which laid the groundwork for her nursing path. She earned her BSN in 2014 while serving as a Nursing Officer in the Colorado Army National Guard. In 2024, Kayla graduated with her MSN as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from UCCS.

Kayla offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share your challenges openly. She collaborates with clients facing a range of mental health challenges, focusing on understanding their primary concerns during your initial sessions. Together, you will create a tailored plan aimed at restoring their quality of life. Most clients experience a gradual reduction in symptoms within the first month, leading to sustained improvement as you progress in treatment. In the realm of psychiatric mental health care, she adopt a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and person-centered approach. This framework not only respects the diverse backgrounds of individuals but also fosters a therapeutic environment conducive to healing. By integrating these principles, she ensures that care is both holistic and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Kayla provides in-person services in the Pueblo area and virtual appointments throughout Colorado. She looks forward to supporting you on your journey to mental wellness!
